Kaitlyn Burke is the founder and owner of New Heights Basketball Academy, a program she established over 12 years ago with a mission to empower and inspire the next generation of female athletes on and off the court. With over 15 years of coaching experience, Kaitlyn is known for bringing unmatched passion, skill, leadership and mentorship to every team, group, and training session she leads.
A natural leader both on and off the court, Kaitlyn earned a full-ride Division I basketball scholarship to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she helped guide the Huskers to four NCAA Tournament appearances, a Big XII Conference Championship, and a second-place Big Ten finish. She was team captain for three years at Nebraska and ranks second in career games played, ninth in all-time three-pointers made, and second in freshman three-pointers made—testament to her consistency and leadership throughout her collegiate career.
Kaitlyn proudly represented Team Canada and team BC from 2003 to 2008. She was captain and MVP of the U17 National Championships in 2006 and played for Team Canada at multiple levels: the Cadet and Junior National Teams, the inaugural National Elite Development Academy, and the Development National Team, where she competed internationally, including at the World Championships in Slovakia, World Championships in Colorado and in a series of international games in China.
Off the court, Kaitlyn is the Vice President of Business Operations at Rockdoc Consulting Inc., where she leads national healthcare initiatives and oversees critical business functions across the organization. Her work spans both public and private sectors, including operational leadership in secure healthcare environments and virtual care.
In addition to her professional and coaching commitments, Kaitlyn serves on the Board of Directors for Basketball BC, where she contributes her leadership experience and vision to the continued growth and development of basketball across the province.
Whether she’s coaching on the court, leading in the boardroom, or shaping policy at the provincial level, Kaitlyn is committed to developing confident leaders, growing the women’s game in Canada, and being a strong role model for youth across the country.
"New Heights Basketball Academy gives young women in British Columbia an opportunity to not only achieve their goals through sport, but also grow as young women and leaders in the community. Whether an athlete's goal is to make an elementary or high school team, or represent BC or Canada, all of us at New Heights will work with players to help turn those dreams into a reality."
Kaitlyn graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising and Public Relations.
